”Life is short, Break the Rules. Forgive quickly, Kiss SLOWLY. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably And never regret ANYTHING That makes you smile.” —Mark Twain
When I last checked in, Whitey was still on the lamb, my kid was a first grader, I had to explain to people WHY they needed my social media marketing business, and my life in the valley was chugging along at a normal pace. Well. Things are a bit different these days. Whitey’s sitting in a jail cell in Boston, my daughter is on summer vacay awaiting 2nd grade, people now know they NEED social media, (even if I still have to convince them to PAY me), and my life in the Val? anything but normal.
So if you’re here for my social media consulting, click here: http://tinyurl.com/4nvkzqm
If you’re here because you started following me on twitter, I hope to share a little more insight into who I am.
First and foremost, I’m from Boston. Born and raised on the North Shore. Spent most of my life growing up in Salem, MA (yes, the Witch City) in a neighborhood called Witchcraft Heights, in a high school who’s sports teams were all named “The Witches”. Yeah, I wish I was making that up.
Grew up, became an on-air radio personality for WFNX fm (Boston’s legendary alternative indie station) and kicked some serious ass for a few years. Supporting local music was my passion, as well as kissing a lot of frogs, but we can talk about that later. I’m very proud to say I helped more than a few bands, both local and national out in various ways whether it be consulting, promotion, or just pure unadulterated love. It’s still cool when my daughter picks up a cd out of my collection from the 90’s and says “Hey Mom, it says your name here in the ‘thank you’ section!”
She may not be the only kid who has a platinum Weezer record hanging in her home, but having her Mom’s name on it while proudly displayed in the guest bathroom might be a bit more unique.
I left Boston and my life as an FNX radio personality in 2002. Fell in love with a chef, moved to Vegas, got married, bought a home, had a baby and prepared for life as a post-music industry person.
That experiment lasted for about 4 years. Two moves later found me and mine in Los Angeles looking to get back into radio, and to put the two Angies (pre and post mommyhood) back together again. Scored the second gig of a lifetime working with two of my old bosses at the legendary Indie 103.1fm. It was part time weekends and fill-ins, but it was an amazing opportunity. It also didn’t hurt to have legends like Henry Rollins, Steve Jones, and Joe Escalante as co-workers.
Was an amazing few months…four to be exact. Grand plans were hatched. A second chance at an FNX-in-the-90’s type of experience was hoped for. Then the hammer came down. The parent company needed to make some money, the entire staff save two people were laid off, and the terrestrial signal was flipped to spanish.
Well after the grand depression set in, (“yes I think this would be an EXCELLENT time to pick back up smoking after 8 years off!”) I helped one of my former mentors and co-workers start up his own online radio station (HoundstoothRadio) and taught myself social media marketing in the process. It became apparent soon after that I had a real knack for marketing and promotion via Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. It also became apparent that most people knew they needed twitter and FB for their biz, but had ZERO desire to learn it on their own. So I started my own business.
So here I am, a year or so later, professional life getting better, personal one in complete chaos (separated/getting divorced/facing the world as a single mom) But staying positive in lieu of going down the rabbit hole. Passion for bands still holding strong (have you heard Buffalo Tom’s new record? http://twitter.com/BuffaloTomBand) or Roll The Tanks? (http://twitter.com/RollTheTanks) even the new Foo Fighters record has captured my heart. (how can you deny the magic of a Bob Mould/Dave Grohl duet?)
Clearly the ego from my Boston radio days still looms large, as I find myself updating tumblr, twitter, and facebook with my personal b.s. in hopes that someone still gives a crapity.
Well, you’re here. So I guess that’s something.
(SIDENOTE) James “Whitey” Bulger was here in SoCal the whole time. Maybe I should have spent more time in Santa Monica. That 2 million dollar reward would have been nice. At least now his victims’ families can find a small grain of peace.
Go Sox.

It really is just this simple.
Lyrics to Could Be So Happy :
I could be so happy if I just quit being sad
I could be so funny if I just quit being a drag
I could be so sweet if I just quit being sour
I could do all these things oh I have the power
I’m gonna see what tomorrow brings
I’m gonna make it to the midnight train
I’m gonna see what tomorrow brings
I’m gonna take it to the world outside
So I took off running I ran over the hills
My odyssey through concrete and steel
Gonna keep on going I don’t want to stand still
Gonna keep on going I don’t want to stand still
I’m gonna see what tomorrow brings
I’m gonna make it to the midnight train
I’m gonna see what tomorrow brings
I’m gonna take it to the world outside
I am going out into
I’m going out to the sweet unknown
I am going out into
I’m going out to the sweet unknown
Oh I’m longing to be
Oh I’m longing to be
Out in the sweet unknown
Oh I’m longing to be
Oh I’m longing to be
Out in the sweet unknown
Last night I got to meet James Marsters, who played Spike/aka/William The Bloody on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I could not possibly describe it as well as my pal Trent did on his blog: PITNB…so here’s the link: http://www.pinkisthenewblog.com/2010/10/marsters-and-servant/
here’s a pic as well:

I realize I haven’t posted in a while. My bad. Lots of personal and professional angst going on lately. Much love to my amazing network of friends and family for helping me keep it together. I am a very lucky girl.
So it’s Sunday afternoon and I survived my 6 year old daughter’s first official sleepover. There was pizza, triple chocolate milkshakes, marathon movie watching and lip-gloss applications a-plenty. The girls partied like rock stars (of the Disney-variety) and passed out some time around midnight…I think. That’s when I passed out anyway. All in all… a success!
Just to make sure I’m not completely lost in MommyTown I am now immersed in the new album from The Street Dogs. Nothing like a little home-town punk rock to get my blood moving. Please go check it out and join me in my joy: http://www.myspace.com/streetdogs
In other news, I officially started my own consulting business. Helping individuals and small businesses with all their social media marketing needs. (I help them promote their businesses or themselves with Twitter/Facebook/blogging etc.) Also doing some radio and podcast producing and consulting as well. I’m becoming very fond of this word “consulting”. And oddly enough, I’m actually pretty good at it.
Summer is ticking away and here in the val the heat has thus far not been a huge factor. Which is nice. After surviving years in Vegas and Phoenix, the heat in the San Fan valley is no big whup. Okay, now I’m officially talking about the weather, so I will say ttfn. laters.
I know at least six of you might find this interesting…so here you go:
